In this post I want to tell you about new j-shortcode that supports membership sites: [j-memberwing]
[j-memberwing] shortcode allows you to show certain chunks of content only to certain members and hide it from anyone else.
Say, for example:
  • if you want to show embedded premium videos only for members, while non-members can only read text – [j-memberwing] shortcode is for you.
  • if you want to show certain discounted price offer only to Gold members, while others will see only fully-priced offer – [j-memberwing] shortcode is for you.
  • if you want to show progressively more and more valuable content within the same post or page to higher level members, while inviting lower level members to upgrade their subscription to see more – [j-memberwing] shortcode is for you.
First – a brief introduction into MemberWing-X principles – how this membership plugin works:
MemberWing-X manages access to premium content depending on member’s product ownership.
For example if member owns “Gold Membership” product, and right after the free teaser of certain premium article this marker is inserted: {{{gold}}} – then such “Gold member” will be allowed to see complete article, while non-member or “Silver member” will not. In other words this MemberWing-X’s premium marker: {{{gold}}} will allow access to any content below this marker to any member who owns a product with keyword “gold” in it’s name.
For more detailed explanations of MemberWing’s premium markers see these tutorials.

What MemberWing-X {{{…}}} markers allows to accomplish – is to split article in 2 chunks: free teaser + premium content, visible only to proper members. What is missing in this model – is an ability to selectively include or exclude parts of content “in the middle”. OR ability to show parts of content in the middle differently to members of different levels.
[j-memberwing] shortcode takes care of this limitation.
Here’s how you would use j-memberwing shortcode to make certain piece of content visible only to “Gold member”:
 [j-memberwing conditions="gold"]
...only logged on member who owns "Gold membership" product will see this...
   [j-else/]
   ...anyone else will see this...
 [/j-memberwing]

keyword‘ in parameter conditions="keyword" carries the same meaning as keyword (or keywords) that you'd place inside of {{{ ... }}} set of MemberWing-X marker brackets: {{{keyword}}}
For more explanations of MemberWing-X premium markers, see MemberWing-X manual and online tutorials.

Here's how you would use j-memberwing shortcode to allow higher level of members to see progressively more and more content:
...This part is visible to everyone...
[j-memberwing conditions="silver|gold"]
...This part is visible to Gold and Silver members...
[/j-memberwing]
[j-memberwing conditions="gold"]
...This part is visible only to Gold members...
[/j-memberwing]

You may also nest j-memberwing shortcodes inside of each other using the same nesting rules as described in this article.
Note: to have membership functionality fully enabled on your website - you need to have memberwing-x plugin + of course J-Shortcodes plugin installed and activated as well.
